Natural Paintings

Once there lived a Badshah in Delhi. He thought of drawing some paintings. He started drawings figures.

Despite several effort, he could not draw even one figure properly. He realized that drawing was not easy.

So he sent a word for Nasiruggin.

The Badshah said.: “Nasiruddin! I am trying to draw figures for a few weeks. Not even a single figure came out nicely. What about you?

It seems you told me once that you would draw beautiful figures.”

Nasiruddin said: “Yes! Your Highness.”

The Badshah questioned: “Could you draw the figures in the presence of our courtiers and get their appreciation?”

Nasiruddin replied: “If you insist me, I will do like that.”

The Badshah firmly said: “Drawing a figure doesn’t mean drawing  four lines. Paintings must be natural. After four days, I will arrange a meeting. On that day, you should come and draw the figure in presence of all the courtiers.

And also you should prove that your drawing is quite natural.”

Nasiruddin accepted it. He went back after four days. While going, he brought two asses.

Nasiruddin questioned: “Shall I start drawing figures, Badshah?”

The Badshah accepted for it by nodding his head. Nasiruddin took two papers from his hand bag. He drew green lines on the two papers. All began observing Nasituddin. He placed the papers that have green lines before each ass. The asses ate those two papers.

Nasiruddin looked at the Badshah and said: “Your Majesty! I have drawn the figures of green grass on the papers. Both the asses have eaten them thinking that it is really the green grass.

Four days ago, I promised you that I would give you natural paintings. I kept up my promise. Or else how could asses eat my paintings?”

The entire court including the Badshah burst into laughter for Nasiruddin’s words. No body said that the asses would eat papers whether painted or not.
